We spent 2 interesting days in Savannah walking our little legs off. It is a beautiful city with endless lovely, old Live Oak Trees draped with Spanish Moss and Magnolia Trees (just coming into bloom).
As you probably already know, Savannah is very neatly designed with loads of squares. The city design was originally set-up in 1733 by the British General? Oglethorpe....he did a great job.
But, before I subject you to my pictures of Savannah homes and squares. a couple pictures of our little pupster's 5th birthday party.
Okay here is Savannah!
The largest square and most famous - Forsyth Park - 10 acres of great greenspace.
Here are the lovely neighborhood squares. Included in these are the Comer House where Jefferson Davis (Pres of Confederates during Civil War) stayed as guest AND the home of Juliette Gordon Low, the founder of The Girl Scouts.
Next stop Beaufort, SOUTH CAROLINA. Whew, these states go fast now that we have cleared Florida.
AH - Savannah! Love it. Have fun in SC! We are NOT there now :-(

ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to Ms Cassie. I can't believe she is five years old.
Wow, time is just flying by. Have a wonderful time in Savannah.
Hot, hot here today, of course I love it, but everyone is complaining. They closed the schools early today due to the heat!!!!!!!!! I don't remember that when I was young. Oh yes, I was young at one time. We send love.
