Cass and Bob on the lanai in Daytona |
Well I had a 50% chance of picking the nicer marina in Daytona but NO I chose the one that is now bank owned and a bit run down. But all the necessary things were there and it was quiet.

The East wind is gone as are the Memorial Day boaters. So, the trip was calm and peaceful....and only 50 miles.

ICW fishing just North of Daytona |
We arrived in St. Augustine mid-day.....all tied up and having a nice lunch downtown by 1pm. St. Augustine is a beautiful place to arrive from water.....the sky line is dotted with lovely old, Spanish-style towers.
Our Inn (Bayfront Marin Bed and Breadfast) is very dog friendly and even has a big jar of doggy treats on the front porch. Cass and Bob are quickly adjusting to the extra space....not to mention the complementary happy hour.
We received very sad news today that our friend (and amazing artist) Jeff Beal died very unexpectledy last week. He is the great man who painted our beautiful car and favorite pieces of furniture. We popped into his studio just before we left Key West to say goodbye and chat about a few ideas for the fall. It is such a shock. Bob and I will deeply miss the wonderfully warm and wacky Jeff Beal!!
Looks like Bob and Ms Cassie are relaxing in there extra "space" You are so fortunate to be having such amazing weather for your journey North. I am so sorry to hear about Jeff Beal. I know how fond you both were of him.
ReplyDeleteLove all the pictures, they help us get the feel of the route you are taking and all of the picturesque sites.
Off to Essex tomorrow afternoon. Tess and Bingo have no idea where they are going next. I send love. Diane
I'm so sorry to hear about your friend.
